A Polite Reminder About Sharing Photos from School Events

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope you all enjoyed our recent Sports Day — it was wonderful to see so many of you supporting the children and celebrating their achievements

We know how special these moments are, and we fully appreciate how important it is for parents and carers to capture memories of their own children at school events. However, it has come to our attention that some photos taken during Sports Day, including pictures of children in swimwear on the slip and slide, have been shared on social media. These images have included other people’s children without their parents’ consent.

We’d like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that, as set out in our Online Safety Policy, while parents and carers are very welcome to take photos of their own child at school events, these photos must not be shared on social media if they include other children, unless you have the consent of those children’s parents or carers. The school knows which children we have permission to share images of, and we have a duty to protect the privacy and safety of all our pupils.

If you have shared any such photos, we kindly ask that you remove them from social media as soon as possible.

If you would like any further advice on this, or on wider digital safety matters, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can also visit the Policies page or Online Safety page of our website, where you’ll find helpful guidance and tips on keeping your child, yourself, and our community safe online.

Thank you, as always, for your understanding and continued support in keeping our school community safe.

Best wishes,
