  • Punctuality Matters

    Published 01/02/25

    ⏰ Punctuality Matters – A Polite Reminder
School starts at 8:55 am, and classroom doors open from 8:45 am (unless your child is attending Breakfast Club). Recently, we have noticed a growing number of children arriving later and later. This is a concern, as our first lesson (Maths) begins promptly at 9:00 am.

Arriving late not only disrupts the start of your child’s learning but also affects the rest of the class and delays teachers in completing registers. Additionally, staff supervising the school gates are being held back due to late arrivals, impacting the start of lessons.

🌟 A proud moment for Llangan Primary School! 🌟

Our Head Boy and Head Girl represented the school at the Vale of Glamorgan’s Super Ambassador event at the Civil Offices in Barry. They had the opportunity to meet other student leaders from across the region, learning about leadership, responsibility, and teamwork—core principles aligned with the rights of the child, ensuring every student’s voice is heard and valued.

Their enthusiasm and commitment to upholding these values truly reflect what it means to be a part of Team Llangan. We’re so proud of them for taking part in this inspiring event! πŸ™Œ

  • 🎭 Returning From The Pantomime

    Published 12/12/24

    Dear Parents/Carers,

The excitement is building as we get ready to head off to the pantomime later today—oh yes, we are! We’re sure the children will have a fantastic time enjoying the magic and laughter of the performance.

We aim to return to school by 4:30 pm. To ensure the children are dismissed safely in the dark, here’s how the process will work:

    • When we return, the children will go back to their classrooms to collect their bags and belongings.
    • Staff will then dismiss them from the usual designated doors:
      • Reception: Classroom Side door
      • Year 1/2: School main entrance
      • Year 3: Dinner hall door
      • Plaza 3 (Years 4, 5, 6): Veranda/slope

Please wait for us in the schoolyard so we can ensure a smooth and safe handover.

We’ll keep you updated if there are any changes to the schedule, but rest assured, it’ll be an afternoon to remember. After all, it wouldn’t be a pantomime without a touch of drama—“Oh no it wouldn’t!”

If you need to contact us this afternoon, email me on Griffithsj107@hwbcymru.net.

    Thank you for your support

    Best wishes,

    James Griffiths

  • Llangan Junior Carol Concert 2024 Attendance Survey

    Published 11/12/24

Dear Parents and Carers of Junior Class Pupils,

We are excited to remind you about our Junior Classes Christmas Carol Concert taking place on Tuesday, 17th December, with performances scheduled at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. The children have been working incredibly hard to prepare, and we are all looking forward to showcasing their efforts.

However, during discussions with the children today, a significant number—nearly 40%—indicated they would not be returning for the 5:00 pm performance. This presents a challenge, as every child has an important role in the concert. Without full participation, it becomes difficult to deliver the same magical experience for both performances.

We completely understand that this is a very busy time of year, and many families have commitments after school. However, the evening performance is especially important for those parents who cannot attend during the day due to work. We kindly ask for your support in ensuring your child can attend both performances so we can provide a memorable event for everyone.

To help us plan effectively, please complete the Microsoft Forms questionnaire using the link below by Thursday, 12th December. If we find that we do not have enough children able to participate in the evening concert, we will have no choice but to cancel the 5:00 pm performance.

We truly value your cooperation and understanding in this matter. Your support helps ensure the success of events like these, creating lasting memories for the children and their families.

Thank you for your prompt response. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Kind regards,
