Dosbarth Llwynog – This Week’s Adventures

It’s been another busy and exciting week in Dosbarth Llwynog! Our biggest focus has been rehearsing for the whole school Harvest Festival celebration. Everyone is working hard, and we can’t wait to perform to our families and share all of our fantastic singing and acting.

In Literacy, we’ve been inspired by the work of David Jones, exploring diary writing and practising putting ourselves in the shoes of the writer. The pupils have been thinking carefully about emotions and experiences, bringing their writing to life with detailed descriptions.

In Mathematics, we’ve been diving into common factors and common multiples. Pupils have been challenging themselves with problem-solving activities, working both independently and in pairs to master these important number skills.

PE has been full of energy, with everyone taking part in invasion games. We’ve been working on teamwork, strategy, and developing our fitness, all while having fun and enjoying the competition.

In Welsh, we’ve been practicing arranging activities with our friends, using phrases to make plans and invite each other to join in. Pupils are becoming more confident speaking in everyday situations, and it’s great to see them enjoying using Welsh outside of the classroom.

To finish the week, we were lucky to go on a trip to the Opera with Years 4 and 5. It was a fantastic experience, and the pupils were brilliant ambassadors for the school. They listened carefully, engaged with the performance, and were full of thoughtful questions afterwards.

It’s been a week packed with learning, creativity, and new experiences, and we’re looking forward to what next week will bring!
