🦊 Dosbarth Llwynog Blog – Week of 10th June

What a brilliant and busy week we've had in Dosbarth Llwynog!

📐 Maths

This week, we’ve sharpened our geometry skills by learning how to identify, classify and measure angles. From acute to obtuse, right angles to reflex – we’ve been using protractors like pros! It’s been great to see the class grow in confidence and accuracy as they worked through a range of practical and problem-solving activities.

✍️ Literacy

In Literacy, we’ve been working on our writing journey focused on policy writing. The pupils have shown great maturity when thinking about what makes a strong and clear policy, and they’ve been learning how to organise their ideas logically, using formal language and structured paragraphs.

🗣️ Welsh

Our Welsh lessons have been lively and full of fun this week! We’ve been developing our oracy and personal information skills through group games and interactive activities. Pictionary was a definite favourite and got everyone giggling while reinforcing key vocabulary.

🇫🇷 French

In French, we’ve been learning how to talk about months of the year and birthdays. Pupils enjoyed singing catchy songs and practising questions and answers with their classmates. Très bien!

🌾 Inquiry

In our Inquiry topic, we’ve been exploring the world of farm diversification. Pupils used their problem-solving and numeracy skills to look at different business ideas, calculate budgets and costs, and decide which options might help a farm grow and thrive. Some of the ideas were very imaginative – we might have some future entrepreneurs in the room!

🏃‍♂️ Sports Day News

Unfortunately, Sports Day was postponed due to the weather on Thursday. But don’t worry – it’s now rescheduled for next Thursday afternoon, and we can’t wait to cheer each other on in the sunshine (fingers crossed!).

Another fab week for our fantastic learners in Dosbarth Llwynog. We’re proud of all the hard work, collaboration, and creativity this week – keep it up!
