Dosbarth Llwynog Blog – Weekly Round-Up!

It’s been another fantastic week of learning and creativity in Dosbarth Llwynog, and our pupils have been working hard on a range of exciting tasks.

In Maths, we've been tackling several important topics including time, money, area, and perimeter. Pupils have shown great resilience in solving real-life problems and applying their mathematical knowledge in a variety of contexts.

In Literacy, we revisited persuasive devices and put them to excellent use by writing powerful speeches. We imagined ourselves as struggling farmers wanting to diversify our businesses and used our skills to persuade investors during our inquiry work — the passion and creativity in these speeches were truly impressive!

Over in French, we’ve been learning how to talk about what we are wearing. It’s been great fun building our vocabulary and practising our speaking skills with each other. Meanwhile, in Welsh, we’ve been role-playing and writing all about holidays, using our language skills to describe exciting getaways and dream destinations.

PE has taken us outside as we gear up for Sports Day! We’ve been practising our races and events on the field, showing brilliant teamwork, effort, and sportsmanship.

In Expressive Arts, we’ve taken a deep dive into Cubism and abstract art by exploring the work of Pablo Picasso. Inspired by his unique style, we created our own vibrant pieces based on The Rooster — the results are bold, imaginative, and full of colour!

A quick reminder to all pupils: Don’t forget to log into Mathletics at home and complete your challenges to keep building those maths muscles!

Have a lovely weekend, pawb!
