Week Ending 7.2.25
Netball and Welsh Water!
This week in Dosbarth Llwynog, we have enjoyed a few breaks to our usual routines! On Thursday, some of us attended the House of Sport in Cardiff and took part in the Urdd netball tournament. Although we didn't win every match, our wins were impressive! Two matches out of four were wins for us with scores of 2-0 and 9-0! A huge well done to everyone involved and to Mrs Woodward for accompanying the children.
On Friday, we enjoyed visits from Welsh Water, supporting our enquiry by helping us to understand how sustainable use of water (our most important resource!) is an essential part of protecting our planet.
In maths this week, we've been focusing on negative numbers in Mrs Heavyside's/Antoniou's class and fractions in Mr Howles's class. We have all worked really hard to up our skills in these areas and next week we move onto fractions in Mrs Heavyside/Antoniou's class and decimals in Mr Howles's class.
In literacy, we have spent the first part of the week finishing our poetry work. We have written some beautiful poems that we are really proud of! We are now moving on to some persuasive work, learning about speeches and balanced arguments.
It was lovely to see so many parents at Parents' Evening, we are so proud of the progress your children are making!
Have a lovely weekend with your families.
