Year 2 & 3: A Busy and Exciting Week in Class!
This week, our classroom has been buzzing with activity as the children have been learning, exploring, and getting ready for our special Harvest Concert!
In maths, the children have been consolidating their knowledge of place value by comparing 2-, 3-, and 4-digit numbers. They have been practising placing numbers correctly on a number line, developing their confidence in understanding how numbers fit together. It’s wonderful to see their skills growing every day.
Our writing journey reached an exciting milestone this week. The children completed their letters all about the past in Llangan, showing their creativity and a growing understanding of history. Their enthusiasm for sharing what they’ve learnt about their local area has been fantastic.
Focusing on Harvest, the children explored the difference between local and imported foods. They discussed the benefits and drawbacks of each and thought carefully about how food reaches our plates. This activity helped them connect their learning to the wider world and think about healthy, sustainable choices.
We are all looking forward to sharing our Harvest songs and celebrations at the concert. It has been such a productive week, and the children should be very proud of all their hard work!
Looking ahead to next week:
On Monday, we will be having our Jump Out Day, where the children will come to school dressed as Celts to kickstart our exciting new topic on the Celts and Romans. They will be getting hands-on experience with Celt building techniques, so expect some mud, fun and lots of creative learning! 🛡️🏺
