Pili Pala Goes on a School Trip to the RNLI!

This week, our Pili Pala learners had an exciting adventure as they went on a school trip to the RNLI in Porthcawl! The children were fascinated to learn about the lifesaving work of the RNLI crew and even got to explore the lifeboats up close. They loved discovering how the boats work and the important safety equipment the volunteers use. It was an inspiring day which has been a great start to our new inquiry.

Back in the classroom, we’ve been busy with maths and literacy. In maths, the children have been practising their counting skills, developing confidence in recognising numbers and understanding one-to-one correspondence. In literacy, we’ve been working on retelling the story of The Little Red Hen. The children have been writing their own versions of the story, practising forming letters, using their phonics knowledge, and sequencing events. They’ve been so proud of their writing and eager to share their stories with friends and teachers.

Next week, we can’t wait to see what pirate adventures we will explore when we start our new inquiry.

Jump In Day – Monday 29th September – Please come dressed as a pirate.  We can’t wait for the children to set sail as pirates, but there’s no need to buy a costume – everyday items from home, work perfectly! For example - Striped t-shirts, old shirts, or scarves can be pirate tops and bandanas.

Have a lovely weekend!
