A busy but fantastic week!

Morfa Bay Residential
Year 5 have had the most exciting and action-packed week on our residential trip to Morfa Bay. From the moment we arrived, the adventure began and we haven’t stopped since!

Activities Galore
Everyone challenged themselves with a whole host of fantastic activities:

  • Rock climbing and high ropes to test our courage and teamwork.
  • A thrilling zip line ride with amazing views.
  • The famously muddy assault course (we’re still finding mud in our shoes!).
  • Archery, where we practised our aim and focus.
  • Sea activities, splashing about and learning new skills on the coast.
  • Bush craft, discovering how to build shelters and light a campfire safely.

Memories to Treasure
This week has been packed with moments we’ll never forget. We conquered fears, cheered each other on, and discovered talents we didn’t know we had. From the thrill of reaching the top of the climbing wall to the giggles during the mud assault course, every activity brought our class closer together.

Evenings were just as special— playing games, dancing at the disco and enjoying the beautiful coastal sunsets. We learned the true meaning of teamwork, resilience, and friendship.
The confidence and independence everyone showed will stay with us long after we return to school. We’re coming home with muddy boots, tired legs, and hearts full of amazing memories!

Harvest Festival & Haiku Writing
Back at school, we joined the whole community for our Harvest Festivalcelebrating the season of plenty with songs and readings. Inspired by autumn, we also crafted our own haiku poemscarefully choosing words and syllables to capture the beauty of nature in just three lines.

A Musical Trip to Cardiff Bay
To round off this incredibly busy week, we travelled to Cardiff Bay to experience the Welsh National Opera. It was an inspiring performance that brought music and drama to life, and gave us a wonderful glimpse into the world of professional opera.

What a whirlwind of adventure, creativity and culture—Year 5 have truly had a week to remember!
