We have been finding out about the features and how to write a letter. Using your learning from class have a go at the challenges below.

*Beginning: Write a letter to someone to tell them about a day in school. It must include a greeting, message and a closing

  • Examples of a greeting: dear / to 
  • Examples of a message: This week I ….. / I liked …… / I played with …..
  • Example of a closing: from / best wishes

** Developing: write a letter to someone telling them about a week in school. It must include a greeting, a closing and a message using joined sentences.

  • Examples of words to join a sentence: because / then / and
  • Examples of a greeting: dear / to 
  • Examples of a message: This week I ….. / I liked …… / I played with …..
  • Example of a closing: from / best wishes

*** Mastery: Write a letter to someone telling them about a week in school. It must include a greeting, a closing, a message using joined sentences, different sentence starters and rhetorical questions.

  • Examples of different sentence starters: Firstly / then / after that
  • Examples of a rhetorical question: Would you like to do this?/ Isn’t that amazing?/ Can you believe it?
